Discovering Ancient Opulence during your Tivoli Tour from Rome: Villa Hadrian and Villa D'Este Gardens
During this Private Rome day tours, you'll explore Tivoli, an area enveloped in lush countryside for over 2000 years. Its proximity to Rome, plentiful fresh waters, and temperate climate attracted many wealthy Romans to escape here for their holidays. It's an ideal retreat from your vacation hustle, offering guided tours of Villa Hadrian and the renowned gardens of Villa D'Este.

Private Guided Tour of Villa Hadrian in Tivoli: Exploring Emperor Hadrian's Opulent Retreat
Emperor Hadrian opted to build his grand Villa in close proximity to Tivoli, providing him a serene refuge from the bustling Roman crowds and sycophantic courtiers. Villa Hadrian resembled a miniature town, boasting baths, fountains, and grand halls adorned with exquisite statues and mosaics. Its innovative style adds a perfect touch to our Rome day tours in Tivoli, enhancing your experience in the Eternal City of Italy.

As you enjoy a walking tour of the Villa Hadrian with an expert Tivoli tour guide, visit the spectacular Canopus, a dining hall overlooking a large canal which could accommodate hundreds of guests invited at Hadrian's magnificent banquets. See also the Teatro Marittimo: Hadrian's headquarters and private retreat surrounded by a moat it could be completely isolated by simply removing two wooden bridges.

Take a Cool Break in Villa D’Este Gardens during Your Rome to Tivoli Day Trip
The gardens of Villa D'Este in Tivoli constitute the second segment of our Tivoli private tours from Rome. Conceived by Cardinal Ippolito D'Este during the 1500s, this ambitious project aimed to convert an ancient Benedictine convent into a modern-day paradise, featuring over 200 fountains arranged across sloping terraces and encircled by stunning greenery. Among the restored highlights is the Fontana dell'Organo, housing a water-operated organ that harmonizes with flowing water. Additionally, "le Fontane di Tivoli e Roma" showcases scaled reproductions of the two cities, adding to the garden's allure.

Tivoli, Villa Hadrian & the sumptuous gardens of the Villa d'Este make our Private Rome day tours of Tivoli the perfect escape in the hot summertime. Enjoy the coolness of waterfalls and sit in the shade of mighty ancient cypresses as you unwind in this heavenly place.

An eye opening tour. Did not know anything really about either site. Enjoyed both places. Only recommendation is to note that there is extensive walking and stairs on this tour so that people are aware that for older people or people with some mobility issues this might not be a suitable tour.
