Private Renaissance Tour of Florence: learn all about Medici Family
As you walk through the streets and piazzas of Florence, you’ll discuss with your private professional English-speaking guide the ideas of the Renaissance, the lives of many famous artists, the Medici family who showered Florence with countless masterpieces, and how life changed forever during this epic period of the history of Florence.

In-between the famous landmarks, we'll take enchanting back-streets and alleys paved with the original stones from ancient times. Here, we'll discover lesser-known attractions that will help weave together the complex and rich history of the city and provide our guests with a more intimate experience of Florence.

We'll pause to admire the Ponte Vecchio and to discuss the history and role of the oldest surviving bridge crossing the river Arno. As we enter the piazza della Signoria, after admiring Vasari's Corridor from the exterior, we'll enter Dante's old neighborhood.

Enjoy a Complimentary Guided Tour of Accademia Gallery in our Florence Private Tours
After enjoying a private walking tour through the historical center of Florence we arrive at the Accademia Gallery, home to Florence 's most treasured work of art: Michelangelo's David.

After enjoying an in-depth discussion of David, we'll also have time to admire Michelangelo's Slaves: a series of breath-taking sculptures of original captives of the stone who writhe, struggle and turn, forever attempting to free themselves from their rigid marble blocks.

Your guided tour finishes inside the Accademia Gallery where you'll be able to admire other important works of art housed in the museum, and perhaps, take some time to reflect on your intense and thoroughly entertaining best tour in Florence Renaissance and Medici tales.

Paying more for the private tour with Antonella was well worth the money! She met our family of three at our hotel and efficiently guided us through the city. She kept a brisk pace, but didn't leave us out of breath. She knew how to avoid crowds by navigating us through side streets. Antonella is a native of Florence, but had lived for a time in California, so she spoke fluent English. We let her know that we were all interested in history and also that we didn't have much background knowledge about art. She focused her tour on the historical significance of the main attractions in Florence and gave us some beginners level instruction on the sculptures and art that we saw. She shared how to avoid some tourist traps. It was a relief that she took care of the "skip the line" tickets to the Accademia Museum and then navigated us through the inevitable lines. (We waited only about 10-15 minutes). So I'd recommend that you economize elsewhere and splurge for the private tour instead of being herded around in a pack of 20+ people, listening to a scripted tour through a small, disposable, environmentally irresponsible earbud. And ask for Antonella - she's a gem.

Our guide Antonella was extremely knowledgeable about Florence and it's long and tremendous history. She was very thorough but also kept us moving so we could see more. This was a great tour and Antonella is the guide to ask for!
