PERUGIA
Two night’s accommodation at a 4-star Hotel on a bed & breakfast basis, two private transfers including a private transfer tour from Rome to Perugia with a stopover in Orvieto. You will also enjoy a half-day tour to Gubbio - "the city of fools" known for its panoramic Piazza Grande offering best views of Umbrian hills. At an extra cost you can customize your Umbria vacation to include also a visit to the famous Perugina factory to learn all about the process of chocolate making including tasting of best products.

Day 1 - ROME TO PERUGIA
You will be met by one of our local drivers at your accommodation in Rome (or at Rome central station). Travelling in an air-conditioned vehicle enjoy a private transfer to Perugia to your centrally located hotel where you will stay for 2 nights, breakfast included. Your transfer will include an up to 3 hours stopover in etruscan Orvieto - known for the majestic Duomo, St. Patrick's well, the Necropolis and its underground labirynth of caves, wells and tunnels. Built on top of a volcanic butte it's one of the most scenic hill towns of this Umbria tour. Rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 2 - PERUGIA
After a leisurely breakfast enjoy some free time in Perugia - the capital of Umbria. Explore the medieval streets of the Old Town and take a picture at Piazza IV Novembre in front of Fontana Maggiore - this square is more than 2500 years old! Take a stroll on Corso Vanucci - the main pedestrian tourist route of the town and don't forget to visit "Augusta Perusia" chocolaterie and pastry shop to taste local creations! If time permits take a peek at the underground Rocca Paolina (XVI century Papal fortress) to complete your Perugia walk. At an extra cost you can select to include an English-speaking licensed city guide for a more in-depth experience.

In the afternoon, as a part of this Umbria Italy vacation, you will enjoy a Private half-day Tour to Gubbio known also as "the city of fools" due to the unpredictable nature of its inhabitants. Take a picture of the surrounding hills from the famous panoramic Piazza Grande square, admire the Consuls Palace - the symbol of the town, visit St. Ubaldo's tower house and don't forget to stop by one of the ancient blacksmiths shops. Gubbio has been known for centuries for its ornamental ironwork. English speaking driver and a comfortable AC Mercedes vehicle included.

ASSISI
One-night’s accommodation at a 4-star Hotel on a bed & breakfast basis, one private car transfer and a guided tour of Assisi - Unesco heritage site and birthplace of St. Francis.

Day 3 - PERUGIA TO ASSISI
On the third day of your Umbria vacation package you will meet your driver in the lobby of your hotel in Perugia. Enjoy a short 25-min ride to your next destination: Assisi where you will be staying for one night, breakfast included. The hotel will store your luggage until you can check in to your room in the afternoon. You will now meet your English-speaking licensed guide to enjoy a Private 2-hours Guided Tour of Assisi. Known to pilgrims from all over the world, this umbrian hilltown located beneath the summit of Monte Subasio will enchant you with its maze of medieval streets. The birthplace of Saint Francis - one of saint patrons of Italy, this hilltown is home to the papal Basilica of St. Francis and to Basilica of Santa Chiara - dedicated to the founder of the Order of Poor Ladies. If you feel like it you can also climb to Rocca Maggiore to admire unique views of the surrounding hills. Rest of the day at your leisure. To further optimize your Italy vacation package you can opt at an extra cost to include wine tasting or a cooking class in a winery overlooking Assisi.

SPOLETO
One night’s accommodation at a 4-star Hotel on a bed & breakfast basis and a private transfer tour from Assisi to Spoleto with a stopover in Spello - the most enchanting Umbrian borgo, followed by a stopover in Montefalco and a local winery with full wine tasting included.

Day 4 - ASSISI TO SPOLETO
Take a Private Car Transfer Tour from your hotel in Assisi to Spoleto where you will be staying for one night, breakfast included. Travelling in an air-conditioned Mercedes (or similar make) vehicle with an English-speaking driver enjoy a stopover in Spello - the "capital of flowers". Every year between May and June the Flower Festival is held here with the streets covered with the "flower carpet". This beautiful Umbrian "borgo" is worth visiting at any time of the year - its lower part is still surrounded by the Roman walls and the three gates. Wander through the town's cobbled streets - flowers decorate every corner of the old city! Stop by "Enoteca Properzio" wine shop and don't forget to stock up on Spello's chickpeas "cicerchia" - local legumes typical of Umbrian cuisine.
Prior to arriving to Spoleto enjoy a stopover in Montefalco and a local wine estate featuring winery visit and one full wine tasting of local labels including Sagrantino - the most representative wine of the region.
Upon your arrival in Spoleto check in to your hotel and enjoy some free time to take a stroll in this fascinating Umbrian art town. Explore the city centre where traces of its Roman and Medieval heritage can still be found. Take a picture in front of Duomo and the Arch of Drusus and Germanicus. From San Pietro area enjoy early evening panoramic views of the hills and the mighty Ponte delle Torri bridge linking the town to the Rocca Albornoziana fortress.

Day 5 - SPOLETO TO ROME
In the late morning you will meet your English-speaking driver to take a Private Transfer Tour to Rome. Travelling in an air-conditioned vehicle enjoy an up to 2 hours stopover at the Cascate delle Marmore located in the Nera River Park (entrance fees to be paid locally) prior to your arrival to Rome. This Waterfall is unique as its jump of 165 metres is the highest in Europe. You can opt for exploring the falls from routes # 2 or # 3 which are the easiest ones. The experience is particularly rewarding when the water is released (at specific times of the day only). A raincoat and a change of shoes are strongly recommended! Your Umbria vacation ends with drop off at your accommodation in Rome.

PLEASE NOTE: This itinerary starts and ends in Rome however depending on your plans we can adjust this package if you plan to start or end your vacation in Florence/Tuscany or another location. All our Italy vacation packages can be customized to suit your own particular needs, and we can easily add additional nights and services to all our featured vacation packages.
