Lake Garda is the largest and probably the cleanest of Italy's great lakes. The landscape that surrounds the Lake varies from the southern tip of Garda that embraces the plains of Veneto and the soft undulating hills of the Bardolino wine region one of the many DOC registered wine growing regions of the Veneto. The most famous town on the Lake is Sirmione which is home to the "Rocca Scaligera" castle and the remains of the Roman Villa. Discover the stunning scenery of the Lake and its typical towns on our private tour on Lake Garda from Venice!

Tour Overview Tour Overview

Located just a 30-min drive away from the romantic city of Verona, Lake Garda is over 50 km long and ranges from 2 - 16 km wide throughout its length, and is over 350m in depth in some areas. It is bordered on the south by the plains of the Veneto and its northern shore faces onto the Dolomites & South Tyrol and the valleys. Typical of Italy, Lake Garda has more than enough to satisfy the visiting tourist thanks to its wonderful scenery. You can trust us: a full day Lake Garda tour is an authentic magic for eyes, heart, and mind!

You will meet your driver directly in Venice near the Tronchetto car park. Driving towards Verona you will enjoy the views of Veneto plains and distant Valpolicella wine hills and vineyards, with our driver-tour escort introducing you to the history of the region. The best way to start a private tour of the Lake Garda, don’t you think? Your first stop will be Sirmione - a holiday resort and a medical treatment center. Dating back to the Roman times this popular destination is known for its Roman Villa (incorrectly called Grottoes of Catullus) and other patrician houses. It is also home to the "Rocca Scaligera" castle which is one of the main attractions of the Lake. Built by the Scaligeri who were warlords of Verona, and who during their time prior to the Venetian conquest of the mainland ruled most of modern-day Veneto.

You will notice it, during our fantastic Lake Garda guided tour: the further north you go on Lake Garda the more spectacular the scenery becomes. Your next stop will be Lazise - the small beautiful village typical of this area. The name Lazise comes from the Latin word "laceses", which means city on the lake. It's easy to recognize the medieval origins of the town by looking at its „Castello Scaligero" castle and the six towers. Lazise and its area is home to some important villas including the most famous "Villa Pergolana" - built in XVI century, it used to be a Franciscan convent before it was sold to private owners. Enjoy the lovely old town centre and its harbour with beautiful views of the Lake. If time permits we recommend stopping in the nearby small town of Colà to view Villa dei Cedri and its surrounding thermal park which is worth visiting.

Bardolino is one of the most well-known destinations of the area and it is located on the eastern shore of the Lake about 30 km from the city of Verona. The town seats at the feet of the Morainic Hills covered with vineyards, famous for the production of the Bardolino red wine. Enjoy a stroll on the promenade along the lakeshore and admire the view of the two small nearby pennisulas: Punta Mirabello and Punta Cornicello stretching between the town and the Lake before your return to Venice. We can assure you one thing: our full day Lake Garda tour will remain etched in your heart for a long time!
