Tour Overview Tour Overview

Situated in the northern Italian Lake District, Lake Como is an elegant, picturesque and romantic spot. As an Italian holiday destination, it is as popular today as it was in Roman times. Let’s discover our wonderful private day tour from Milan to Lake Como!

You will meet your driver in the lobby of your hotel in Milan. Your first stop will be Bellagio - the Pearl of the Lake. Bellagio is a little town that sits on the intersection before Lake Como splits into two branches. It’s a historic location with beautiful views of the Lake. There’s a great choice of restaurants, bars and boutiques to visit. In Bellagio you'll find the Villa Melzi and its beautiful gardens which are open to the public and which are known for its many botanical species. Get ready, because this is just the first part of our great Lake Como full day tour!

From Bellagio port you will proceed via the public ferry to Tremezzo (approx 20 min) where you'll find the Villa Monastero - home to one of the most beautiful gardens found at Lake Como. At Tremezzo, explore the Villa Carlotta (entrance fees excluded) whose numerous gardens include rare species of flowers and plants from around the globe, and its interior includes delightful sculptures by Canova arguably the greatest of Italian sculptors.

Continuing on our car tour of Lake Como, from Tremezzo you will head in the direction of Cernobbio and Como. Along the way you will pass by many well-known Villas: Villa Erba - a 19th century villa, which served as a filming location for the movie Ocean's Twelve. George Clooney, who starred in the movie, has his own villa on the Lake - Villa Oleandra in Laglio. If you are lucky perhaps you will meet him! When passing through Moltrasio try to spot Villa Fontanelle which was acquired in the 70s by the famous Italian designer Gianni Versace.

On this panoramic private day tour from Milan to Lake Como, you will stop by Villa d'Este - a Renaissance patrician residence in Cernobbio. In 1948 it was the scene of the famous murder of silk manufacturer Carlo Sacchi. Enjoy a refreshing drink on Villa's terrace before returning to your accommodation in Milan.
