We'll pause to admire the Ponte Vecchio and to discuss the history and role of the oldest surviving bridge crossing the river Arno. As we enter the piazza della Signoria, after admiring Vasari's Corridor from the exterior, we'll enter Dante's old neighborhood. After enjoying a walk through the historical centre of Florence we arrive at the Accademia Gallery, home to Florence 's most treasured work of art - "MichelAngelo's David". After enjoying an in-depth discussion of David, we'll also have time to admire "MichelAngelo's Slaves". A series of breath-taking sculptures of original captives of the stone who writhe, struggle and turn, forever attempting to free themselves from their rigid marble blocks. |
