 LIVORNO TO THE CINQUE TERRE & PISA PRIVATE SHORE EXCURSION
The aura of isolation that has surrounded the five small ancient costal villages known as the "Cinque Terre", together with their dramatic coastal scenery, has made this small and unique area of Italy an ever more important attraction for visitors to Italy. Built in ancient times by people seeking refuge from the invading barbarians, lying between the mountains and the sea the people for centuries endured an isolated life. Arriving at Riomaggiore, the first of the Cinque Terre, your guide will escort you on a walk along the easy "Lovers Walk" trail that affords magnificent views of the coastline. The path glides above the placid Ligurian Sea beneath the mighty cliffs of the Cinque Terre affording incredible views of the coastline. At Manarola, the most photogenic of the five villages explore a myriad of narrow alleys and pretty pastel squares, and enjoy an optional wine tasting of the local wines. And perhaps enjoy lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Ligurian Sea. From Manarola, you'll take a boat tour along to Vernazza, another of the photogenic and enchanting villages of the Cinque Terre where you can further explore narrow alleys and enjoy splendid vistas. Or perhaps you can just reward yourself with a cool drink and the spectacular view from the harbors edge back up in to village and towering peaks above. 
At Vernazza, after a relaxing day along the Cinque Terre you guide will meet you to take you back to your cruise ship. As you drive along the coastal road you'll have further opportunities to take in the beautiful coastline and dramatic view of La Spesa as you descend the twisting road bidding farewell to the Cinque Terre. En route to Livorno to complete your shore excursion, we'll pause at Pisa to admire the World famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. |
