This Tuscany Day Tour features : Enchanting Val D'Orcia , visit two selected wine estates and wine tastings , the medieval Hilltown of Montalcino, and Sant' Antimo Abbey.
Travelling south from Florence, enjoy a journey off-the-beaten-track to the beautiful Orcia Valley that offers some of the best scenery in Tuscany. The soft rolling hills are punctuated by medieval hilltowns, olive groves, vineyards and roads lined with cypress trees that create one picture postcard image after the other.
On your private Brunello di Montalcino wine tour ,we'll pass through the panoramic ancient road Cassia, and before reaching the hilltown of Montalcino , we'll visit a top winery of the area: the Altesino castle wine estate , where you enjoy the visit of the wine cellar followed by a wine tasting of their best wines , from the Rosso di Montalcino to the high end Brunello .
We'll then make our way to the famous medieval town of Montalcino that enjoys sweeping views of the Val D'Orcia . After a tour of the town, you'll have the time for an optional lunch at a local enoteca ( wine bar), in the heart of the town. The owner of the restaurant, a local wine expert will provide a lunch of local specialities combined with the local wines .
After leaving Montalcino , we'll make a stop at the magnificent Sant'Antimo Abbey dating back to the 9th century and one of the most famous buildings along the Via Francigena, the Pilgrims road of Medieval times.
We'll continue our day by visiting another prestigious wine producer , the Biondi Santi estate where you'll enjoy the visit of the wine cellar along with a full wine tasting of their selected wines.
