Arriving at Riomaggiore, the first of the Cinque Terre, we'll begin your tour of the Cinque Terre. Your driver/guide will escort you on an easy walk along the the famous “Lovers Walk” trail that affords magnificent views of the coastline. Entrance to this guided walk is included in the price of the tour. As you enjoy a delightful and relaxing stroll the magic and beauty of the Cinque Terre will start to overwhelm you!
At Manarola, tour the most photogenic of the five villages. Explore a myriad of narrow alleys and pretty pastel squares that epitomize the man-made beauty of the Cinque Terre. Perhaps! take a time-out from your tout of the Cinque Terre to enjoy a wine tasting of the local renowned wines at a cosy wine-bar.
From Manarola your tour of the Cinque Terre will continue with a visit to the town of Vernazza, arguably the most beautiful of the five vilages that make up the Cinque Terre. Your journey from Manarola to Vernazza will be by boat and the cost of the boat ticket along with the entrance fees for the coastal footpath are included in the price of the tour. The town of Vernazza faces onto the water with its large open harbour, castle and church it conjures up all the magic of the Cinque Terre. Enjoy a relaxing lunch at one of the open-air resturants that line the waterfront, or enjoy a stroll through the back-streets of the town above the harbor to enjoy splendid views along the coats.
For logistical reasons, your local driver guide will escort you as far as Manarola and will make sure you are on-board the boat for Vernazza before parting company. Then, he will meet you again in Vernazza after you have had time to explore the town. Before heading back to Florence, we will drive up to Corniglia, the only one of the Cinque Terre towns not located directly on the water.
The fourth village that we visit, Corniglia, is the ideal place to finish our day tour of the Cinque Terre as from the towns belvedere you can enjoy some of the best views of the Cinque Terre. The terraced hills are covered with vineyards that remind visitors of Corniglia's famous wine that has been produced here since ancient times. In fact, the wine was so famous in ancient times that vases excavated at Pompeii boasted its virtues. The less frequented of the Cinque Terre towns, in Corniglia you will have a chance to reflect on your day touring the famous Cinque Terre before returning back to Florence.
PLEASE NOTE: For logistical reasons your driver/guide will escort you as far as Manorola, taking care of the tickets for the boat ride to Vernazza. While your having a relaxing time enjoying your tour of the Cinque Terre he'll be busy driving tour vehicle to Vernazza to collect you to return to Florence.
