PRIVATE SASSICAIA, ORNELLAIA & MASSETO WINE TOUR

Some thirty years ago wine producers from Piedmont saw the potential of the rolling hills on Tuscan coast around the enchanting medieval town of Bolgheri for the production of wine. In a relative short time for the wine industry, this back-water off-the-beaten track that boasts some the finest coastline in Italy  became one of the driving forces behind the rejuvenation of Tuscan wines.

In this heavenly setting, some of the best and most expensive of the Super Tuscan Wines are produced such as the Sassicaia and Masseto wines. During your wine tour of the Sassicaia & Masseto wine country you will visit two celebrated vineyards where you will enjoy full wine tastings at each vineyard as well as touring their facilities to thoroughly understand the types of production utilized to produce these celebrated wines.

In between our tours of the vineyards we'll spend some time admiring the beautiful landscape of the Bolgheri wine region and visit the enchanting medieval town of Bolgheri surrounded by two hundred year old cypreses, to explore its narrow paved streets, lined with  old stone houses brightly colored with geraniums all dominated by a red brick castle.

Optional lunch can be taken in the splendid countryside where you can admire the famous tall and straight cypresses of Bolgheri or by the alluring Mediterranean sea. With the option of also visiting Etruscan remains, a very different tour awaits you in this rather unique and breath-taking  part of the non-tourist Italy.
